Job Description
ESCO is a fourth generation family owned business that opened its doors in 1944.
ESCO performs all types of civil construction such as earthwork utilities concrete flat work and concrete structures for both private and public clients. ESCO enjoys tackling diverse and challenging projects throughout Colorado and the surrounding states.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experiencedGrade Checker with GPS Experienceto join our team of professionals.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Work on multiple Heavy Civil projects to survey and check grade
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
- Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion
- Set grade stakes: Use hand tools measuring instruments and ratios to set grade stakes that guide equipment operators
- Monitor excavation: Watch the excavation process to ensure the operator hits the correct marks
- Survey the worksite: Use GPS equipment to ensure the grade matches the original plan
- Read and understand drawings: Read construction drawings specifications and safety and quality standards
- Communicate grade differences: Calculate grade differences and communicate them to the Grading Foreman
- Maintain tools and equipment: Inspect clean and maintain tools equipment and machinery
- Keep the job site clean: Perform job site cleanup and maintain the job site free of hazards
Qualifications:
- Must have a clean MVR
- Must be able to drive a Company truck or own vehicle
- Experience with loading surfaces linework and points required
- Experience with Control Localizations and Topos required
- Experience with Trimble Topcon or Leica required
- Demonstrate accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Experience with Agtek or Business Center and Machine Control a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Must possess a basic understanding of proper safety measures for working around slopes vertical edges and mass excavations.
- Must be able to set read and understand grading stakes at a basic level.
- Must be able to utilize plans blueprints GPS file readouts and other related information at a basic level.
