The Orange East Supervisory Union (OESU) is located in the beautiful Upper Valley of the Connecticut River in Bradford Vermont. OESU is comprised of six schools and a technical center serving over 1500 students in grades preK through twelve. The professional staff of our schools and central office provide an educational environment with an eye on high standards and quality instruction.Orange East Supervisory Union is seeking a dynamic dualcertified Special Education and Elementary Teacher to support students on the autism spectrum in an inclusive classroom setting. This fulltime position will work directly with students in grades K4 fostering an inclusive environment where all students including those with autism can thrive. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both general education and special education enhancing the ability to meet the diverse learning needs within the same classroom this role the dualcertified teacher will collaborate closely with other educators to design and deliver lesson plans that cater to a range of learning styles promote inclusivity and ensure individualized support for students with autism. The teacher will also provide oneonone instruction and assist in curriculum development and programming needs to help students achieve their academic and socialemotional goals.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction and support to students on the autism spectrum tailoring teaching strategies to meet individual needs.Collaborate with general education and special education staff to develop and implement inclusive lesson plans and curriculum that address the diverse needs of all students.Provide oneonone instruction and support as needed to help students succeed in both academic and social settings.Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with autism ensuring that goals are being met and adjusted as necessary.Monitor students academic social and emotional progress making datadriven decisions to adjust instructional strategies and interventions.Facilitate communication between parents support staff and outside professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each students education.Foster a positive inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.Assist in the development and implementation of behavior management strategies that promote positive student outcomes.Provide support in the creation of individual and group goals for students aligning with both educational and social/emotional objectives.Collaborate with other teachers and staff to assess the effectiveness of current programming and adjust as needed to meet the needs of students on the autism spectrum.To apply for this position complete the school spring application and include: a cover letter resume three current letters of recommendation proof of Vermont licensure with an Early Childhood Special Education Teaching endorsement (or proof of the ability to become licensed) transcripts (undergraduate and/or graduate) and Praxis (or the equivalent) test scores.
