Job Description
Job Summary:
- Prepare Detailed Cost Estimates:
- Develop initial scopes and prepare precise estimates for construction projects including materials labor and equipment using Xactimate.
- Update estimates based on change orders and customer requests.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Attend prebid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements.
- Collaborate with Project and Operations Managers to set project milestones and expectations.
- Interpret and communicate repair methods and designs to field staff.
- Vendor and Client Communication:
- Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials.
- Work with homeowners insurance adjusters agents and building officials to clarify project scopes and resolve disputes.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all estimates adhere to company policies and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals in a timely manner.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in residential and/or commercial construction.
- Proven experience working with older and modern building materials and methods.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Xactimate and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical mathematical and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications:
- Xactimate certification preferred but not required.
- Requirements:
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Environment:
- Officebased with travel to job sites as required.
- Exposure to various weather conditions during site visits.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional bending lifting and standing during site inspections
