POSITION AVAILABLE: AREA SALES MANAGER WASTE CONTAINERS & 2WHEELED TRASH CARTS MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS MARKET/REGION: BaltimoreMD Philadelphia PA Harrisburg PA JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for initiating contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads promote companys products and services and identify sales opportunities. Responsible for achieving company projected goals of revenue and profitability by generating sales of company products and services withinan assigned region or territory. SALES ACTIVITIES: - Promote the sales of residential waste containers 2Wheeled Trash Carts) commercial containers and container management programs through direct sales. Activities including prospecting cold calls email visits marketing campaigns promotions and other sales generating activities.
- Solicit new sales of Otto products and Otto services with prospective customers.
- SolutionBased Selling that clearly and convincingly articulates Ottos offerings value proposition and differentiation.
- Manage and serve current customer base with excellent service and account management.
- Develop and maintain effective longterm professional interactions with others based on trust that ensures customer loyalty through consistent communication and accountability.
- Analyze customers circumstances relating to warranties municipal contracts and or general business responsibilities.
- Assist in creating best practices for dealing with all accounts including municipalities and independent haulers.
- Communicate and review the services and issues pertinent for sustained growth with company personnel.
- Prepares periodic reports showing sales volume sales forecasts call details or other information that is required by management.
- Utilizes online ERP/CRM program to enter and continuously maintain all quotes and forecasted opportunities with high attention to detail.
- Participates in industry associations/events in order to network with current and prospective customers to learn about industry trends to promote the Otto brand and to better the industry through participation/sponsorships.
QUALITY ACTIVITIES: - Recommends improvements in processes products services or procedures to Otto and to the customer.
- Collects business intelligence on products and services the development of which might enhance Ottos product/service lines.
- Participates in the implementation maintenance and improvement of the Company Quality System
- Provides ongoing support to product distribution channels.
- Maintains focus on improving the quality of products and services provided by the company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Outside sales experience; business to business required
- Experience in the Waste Management industry preferred
- Experience with Municipal Governments preferred
QUALIFICATIONS: - Demonstrate a sincere positive attitude toward getting things done.
- Excellent Professional communication skills verbal written and presentation.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Email Word Excel PowerPoint) and other business communications & sales related software.
- Proficient in persuading convincing influencing or impressing others to take a specific course of action.
PLEASE NOTE: Interested applicants should reside within the sales territory. Travel within the sales territory as needed.
