APS6 Property and Security Officer

Approximate 10month contract with possibility of extension Canberra Location $58.29 $68.47 per hour plus 11.5 superannuation

OVERVIEW

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Property and Security Officer to join their team at the APS6 level. Within this role you will manage security clearances and be responsible for the property of the department.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working collaboratively with the Service Manager to perform security adviser functions as delegated by the Chief Security Officer from time to time.
  • Managing security clearances on behalf of the department and communicating with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
  • Managing compliance and assurance within the security governance framework including the mandatory requirements of the Governments Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
  • Overseeing the management of the departments property including repairs and maintenance liaison with landlords and outsourced property management services supplier and security access (including building / floor / car parking pass allocation and management).
  • Managing security and propertyrelated projects including relevant procurement activities and contractor and stakeholder management.
  • Contributing to strategic planning for the departments security and property and assisting with the development implementation monitoring and review of policy and planning documents and SOPs.
  • Contributing to the provision of property and security reports including preparing and maintaining environmental reporting (OSCAR and Waste Disposal NPC) and the Australian Government Office Property Data Collection (PRODAC) Report.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation rules regulations and procedures including the Protective Security Policy Framework and Commonwealth Procurement Rules or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and experience or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of security and building maintenance systems.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage contracts and resolve service delivery problems in a timely and satisfactory manner.
