SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING MANAGER (STARLINK)
Supply Chain Planning lies at the heart of Starlink where we are designing and manufacturing satellites at an unprecedented rate to enable worldwide highspeed internet access. Supply Chain Planning Managers make this possible by coordinating closely with engineering procurement production and logistics to ensure we have the supply to manufacture the right quantity and configurations of products to satisfy our global customer demand. We are looking for a detailoriented problemsolver that can manage both new product introduction and stable highvolume products implement novel processes and solutions to help scale our business and clearly communicate potential risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and senior leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the endtoend planning lifecycle for Starlink Satellite subassemblies or finished goods from accurate bill of material requirements appropriate supply coverage and timely configuration management to satisfy global consumer and enterprise demand
- Manage the supply schedule for raw material and finished goods in order to optimize days on hand and inventory turns minimize obsolescence and enable the production line to output at full rate
- Communicate forecasts to internal and external stakeholders that accurately reflects minimum requirements while hedging against potential upside or change in business direction
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the multitier global supply chain by coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders (procurement logistics engineering etc. to propose creative solutions and drive to closure
- Balance a spectrum of both new product introduction (NPI) with rapid iteration and design changes as well as stable production with annual volumes in the hundreds of thousands and eventually in the millions
- Partner with engineering and production teams to effectively plan for and incorporate design or process changes seamlessly into the production line without impacting output
- Support insourcing efforts where applicable to guarantee constant supply from internal and external sources to enable overall production targets
- Assess and monitor supply base capacity and constraints at primary and subtiers suppliers to inform program scenario planning and mitigate potential challenges when ramping a product line
- Maintain part and planning master data as needed to accurately reflect leadtimes manufacturing allocations yields and attrition offsets order policy and other parameters
- Guide and mentor peers and team members to strengthen organizational resiliency and bolster the talent pipeline
- Define and incorporate organizationlevel processes and improvements that enables the business to scale and efficiently utilize its human capital leveraging learnings from worldclass manufacturers and other highvolume industries
- Develop applications reporting and dashboards to measure team KPIs and support the business as it scales from hundreds of thousands to millions of global customers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree and 3 years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelors degree and 5 years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 9 years of experience working in one or more of the following:
- Engineering
- Purchasing
- Contract negotiation
- Material or production planning
- Operations or supply chain management
- Material cost control
- Master production scheduling
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a highvolume industry such as automotive or consumer electronics
- Masters degree in engineering business supply chain or other technical discipline
- Proven success working on crossfunctional new product introduction projects managing multiple products
- Technical knowledge in mechanical (plastic injection molding diecasting packaging etc. or electronic (EEE PCB cables etc. commodities
- Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
- Intermediate skills in SQL Tableau PowerBI and other data analytics
- Advanced skills in MS Excel & Project able to create pivot tables or macros and analyze data
- Experience navigating multitier Bill of Materials and work orders
- APICS certification
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Exceptional written verbal and presentation communication skills
- Detailoriented selfmotivated and able to respond quickly to a fastmoving and everchanging environment
- Conducts all activities with the highest of integrity
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supply Chain Planning Manager: $110000.00 $145000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a casebycase basis and may vary based on the following considerations: jobrelated knowledge and skills education and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for longterm incentives in the form of company stock stock options or longterm cash awards as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
