The Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical and Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI) Adult Rural

Intensive Case Manager (RICM) is a combined caseload with the primary function of providing personcentered

intensive case management services to adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health disorders who

are currently assigned to the specialized Mental Health Initiative (MHI) probation/parole caseloads in Bandera

Kerr and Medina Counties. The position is MondayFriday Fulltime fieldbased position with flexible hours.

The TCOOMMI RICM regularly meets with individuals in their homes community probation/parole court and at

Hill Country MHDD clinics to provide case management skills training psychosocial rehabilitative services crisis

and trauma services for a caseload of 1215 individuals. Services are intended to stabilize mental health symptoms

and reduce the risk of recidivism by working in collaboration with the probation/parole officers. Staff expectation

is to provide 3.5 billable service hours per individual on the TCOOMMI caseload every month. The TCOOMMI RICM

will be colocated at probation offices throughout Bandera Kerr and Medina Counties. The person in this position

should be knowledgeable about the Texas Department of Criminal Justice TCOOMMI Guidelines & Processes PGP 01.02. TCOOMMI PGP01.02 Intensive Case Management (texas)

The TCOOMMI RICM II position is a provisionally licensed masters levelclinician and concurrently working

towards licensure hours (interns) (i.e. LPCA LMSW or LMFTA) and will be responsible for: conducting

comprehensive biopsychosocial intake assessments providing DSMV diagnostic recommendations to fully

licensed staff members for approval determine eligibility for mental health services as dictated by Texas Health &

Human Services requirements in addition to Hill Countrys MHDD eligibility requirements.

The TCOOMMI RICM III is a fully licensed masters level clinician and concurrently working towards licensure hours

(interns) (i.e. LPC LCSW LMFT) who is responsible for all the job requirements of the TCOOMMI RICM II position in

addition to the following: providing DSMV diagnoses independently as part of the intake process and therapy

services as requested (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Cognitive Processing Therapy).

The person in this position must possess a passion and aptitude for working with individuals who have chronic and

severe mental health needs. The person in this position must have a passion to serve individuals who are involved

in the criminal justice system. This position necessitates innovative thinking patience resiliency skills in advocacy

service coordination mental health assessment and evaluation collaborative personcentered recovery planning

and dual diagnosis treatment. The person in this position will effectively work independently and on a team

prioritize needs during crisis situations engage in regular meetings and trainings opportunities balance selfcare

be a delight to work with and perform other duties assigned with a positive attitude.

The position reports to the TCOOMMI Program Director. The position requires the development and maintenance

of effective professional working relationships with the Probation/Parole Departments that oversee the

reintegration of offenders who reside in Bandera Kerr and Medina Counties.

Qualifications

Youll need:

  • Previous experience working in the TCOOMMI Program 2 years) behavioral health

criminal justice and/or case management QMHP certification

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred).
  • Previous experience providing crisis and trauma services 2 yearspreferred).
  • Masters degree or college level courses in Criminal Justice or Social Sciences from an accredited

university working towards licensure (i.e. LPCA LMSW or LMFTA: required) or masters degree with a

full license (LPC LCSW or LMFT: required).

  • A valid Texas State Drivers License
  • Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel when necessary.
