OVERVIEW The ECS Autistic and Emotional Special Education Teacher is an intervention specialist focused on supporting special education students success and socialemotional growth in an inclusive setting. Working collaboratively with special education teachers general education teachers education assistants paraprofessionals building specialists and the Campus Leadership Team the ECS Autistic & Emotional Special Education Teacher provides the comprehensive socialemotional support that students need in order to participate in the rigorous and engaging learning opportunities within the classroom. Special education teachers work to ensure all K2 students are supported through case management across or within grade levels as determined by the Campus Leadership Team. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded with a willingness to work collaboratively with building staff.
Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with parents administrators school psychologist and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to promote students social/emotional/behavioral development
- Participate in training and train others in interventions as determined by Campus Leadership Team
- Teach socially acceptable behavior as determined by students individualized education programs (IEPs) by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioral support system
- Facilitate a positive achievementoriented and structured learning environment in which all students can experience success
- Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports required by laws district policies and administrative regulations in a timely and professional manner
- Collect and maintain data to track student progress drive individualized instruction and to design academic interventions
- Maintain professional competence by participating in opportunities for professional growth
- Serve as the case manager for a select number of students with Emotional Support and Autistic
- Provide academic intervention and support
Educational Background and Work Experience Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and PA Special Education certification Prior experience teaching ES/AS students preferred Behavioral certifications preferred - Familiarity with charter schools and K2 students
Compensation and Benefits Minimum starting salary of $44216 with consideration given for prior teaching experience plus $1000 Special Education supplement.
