Job Title: Division 9 Estimator

Position Overview:
JRG Partners is seeking a skilled and experienced Division 9 Estimator to join our clients team. This role is crucial to project success as the Division 9 Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs related to Division 9 finishes including drywall acoustical ceilings flooring and other specialty finishes. The ideal candidate is highly detailoriented with a strong understanding of Division 9 materials specifications and market costs. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills to ensure competitive and accurate project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating & Bidding: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for Division 9 project scopes including materials labor equipment and timelines ensuring comprehensive cost breakdowns for client review.
- Material TakeOffs: Perform precise quantity takeoffs for all Division 9 finishes leveraging software tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Bid Preparation: Analyze bid documents blueprints and specifications to compile a competitive and complete bid package that meets all project requirements.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing validate scopes of work and build relationships that support project efficiency and costeffectiveness.
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze current market conditions supply chain trends and material price fluctuations to inform accurate and competitive estimates.
- Cost Evaluation: Assess labor equipment and other costs in collaboration with the project management team to ensure estimates reflect realistic and achievable budgets.
- Project Handover: Work with project managers to transfer awarded project estimates ensuring all necessary details documents and assumptions are clearly communicated.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating Division 9 work with strong knowledge of materials costs and industry standards in areas such as drywall acoustical ceilings and finishes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. OnScreen Takeoff Bluebeam or similar) and a solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a meticulous approach to quantity takeoffs cost estimates and pricing accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors subcontractors and internal teams.
