About the Role
The Case Worker (what we call a Koorta Guide) is a critical role for Adult and Children clients within the Karlup Service. Koorta is a Noongar word which means trusted one. Koorta Guides are at the heart of the Karlup Service model and play a critical role in supporting women and their children throughout their journey of healing and recovery by walking alongside them to gain a deeper understanding of their needs work collaboratively to develop a plan for their future and provide practical support to access internal offerings and navigate external support services.
This is a permanent full time role working 38 hours per week between the hours of 8am 5pm Monday to Friday. Please note that this position is only available for employees who identify as female due to the inherent requirements of the role. This is a genuine occupational qualification in accordance withsection 27of theEqual Opportunity Act 1984 .
What were looking for
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Liaising with Child Protection;
- Providing support through assessing individual needs and creating case management plans;
- Advocating for childrens rights and interests;
- Collaborating with refuge staff and mothers;
- Offering educational resources for both children and their mothers;
- Facilitating and supporting clients to appropriate services; and
- Creating childrens programs and school holiday programs.
Please note that the successful candidate must be female. This is a genuine occupational qualification of this position to be female in accordance with section 27 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
