Position Summary
This role is a leadership/teaching position dedicated to supporting staff enhancing student programs and ensuring highquality collaborative instruction within their assigned level (Elementary Middle School or High School/Transition). Coordinators will have weekly time dedicated to professional development observations and level coordination.
Professional Development and Collaboration
Coordinators will participate in structured professional development to build leadership and supervisory skills:
- Wednesday Cohort Meetings: Coordinators will meet weekly with our Academic Consultant and fellow Coordinators to cover:
- Leadership and supervisory tools and techniques
- Effective parent communication strategies
- Tools and techniques for conducting meaningful observations
- Curriculum planning specific to each school level
- Best practices for running effective quality meetings
- Wednesday Coordinator Release Time: Coordinators will have designated time for:
- Conducting classroom observations
- Holding oneonone meetings with teachers or aides
- Completing coordinatorlevel tasks such as planning reporting and preparing updates for team meetings
- Weekly Level Team Meetings: Each Coordinator will lead a weekly meeting with their level team to address ongoing projects challenges and program goals.
- Monthly AllTeacher Meeting: Coordinators will also participate in a monthly allteacher meeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Support: Provide guidance to teachers and aides in your level promoting collaboration and ensuring alignment with school standards.
- Parent Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for families providing updates on student progress program activities and any curriculum or support changes.
- Curriculum Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with team members to develop and adjust curriculum plans that meet the academic social and emotional needs of students.
- Observations and Feedback: Use Wednesday release time to conduct observations and offer constructive feedback in oneonone sessions with team members.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead weekly level team meetings and take turns leading the monthly allteacher meeting fostering communication across school levels.
Qualifications
- SPED Credential Required
- Experience working with students at the assigned level in an inclusive or specialized setting.
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to professional growth and collaborative teamwork.
