Job Description
The Department of Communication Studies Media & Journalism at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a fulltime temporary instructor in Communication Studies for theacademic year. The position involves teaching undergraduate courses in Communication Studies primarily introductory courses that meet the oral communication general education requirement (Introduction to Communication Public Speaking Interpersonal Communication and/or Small Group Communication). There is a possibility depending on demonstrated expertise and department need that the faculty member may be assigned to teach other courses in their area of specialization. The home campus for this position is Mansfield. About the Department: The department consists of 26 fulltime faculty members and offers programs (majors and minors) in both Communication Studies and Media & Journalism. We are also the primary department offering courses that satisfy the oral communication general education requirement. About the College: The department is housed within the College of Arts Humanities Education and Social Sciences. The college serves as a vibrant hub of interdisciplinary exploration fostering critical thinking creativity and empathy.
Duties
This is primarily a teaching position. A successful applicant must be qualified to teach introductory courses in communication. The teaching load is 4 courses in the Fall semester and 4 courses in the Spring semester.
