The Director of Digital Fleet Management is responsible for scaling the usage of asset performance data for the purpose of improving reliability and operational performance while lowering total cost of ownership of Uniteds fleet of assets. The Director will lead a team of experts to dive into technical details on how different assets operate evaluate existing performance data availability and recommend new engineering modifications as required to gather more data to turn unexpected system failures into scheduled maintenance. They will partner with subject matter experts to develop new use cases work with technology and analytics partners to operationalize use cases and manage third party partnerships for health monitoring and predictive maintenance software solutions.
Own the strategic vision goals technology roadmap and business justification for deployment and scaling of connected systems health monitoring and predictive maintenance technology
Develop roadmap and deliver on Predictive Maintenance and Connected Aircraft initiatives within United including steering committeelevel ownership of key programs to expand use of asset data across operating divisions
Provide strategic vision and direction for Integrated Aircraft Health Monitoring initiatives including oversight and performance management of operational teams managing daytoday health monitoring operations
Develop and manage strategic partnerships with industry and academic entities to scale connected systems health monitoring and predictive maintenance software solutions
Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelors degree in engineering Computer Science Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 10 years experience in business engineering or data driven role
Minimum 5year experience in a leadership/supervisory role
Airline experience or operations experience in a similar industry
Knowledge and understanding of asset/fleet management strategies and maintenance operations
Familiarization with preventive maintenance and reliability concepts and implementation
Proven project management organization and thought leadership skills with ability to build lead and maintain strong productive teams and working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
Familiarization with using data to improve or create new operational processes
Ability to develop strategies to improve operational processes convey strategies in a compelling manner and manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure success
Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively manage relationships and influence change at all levels (including executive)
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience working with aircraft engine ground equipment or other asset sensors and fault data
Familiarity with modern data analytics concepts that include machine learning statistical programming data visualization etc.
