Under the direction of the supervisor either directly or through a lead person this individual is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment and all other processes associated with the finish machining cell. Operations include but are not limited to turning grinding casting gates heat treat strike deburring etc. and set up of equipment.
Working from engineering prints process sheets and verbal instructions the individual must be able to set up and operate so that production and quality levels are maximized. The individual must select and install various tooling for multiple part sizes. This includes turning Collets when necessary.
This person must be able to use and interpret a wide variety of precision measuring equipment such as micrometers talysurf verniers indicators air gages etc. the individual must be able to troubleshoot potential quality issues and perform offsets or any other adjustments as necessary to assure parts are manufactured according to the specifications on the blueprint. Basic computer skills are required for data collection as necessary.
The individual is responsible for maintaining equipment in good working order through both periodic and proper lubrication and routine maintenance. This person will train others working or assigned to the department. Other duties include maintaining accurate production records keeping the work area clean and safe transportation of any material within the department and/or to and from other departments keeping an inventory of all tools unusual and experimental work and any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.
