Job Description

Title: Human Resources Generalist
Business Unit: Medeco Security Locks
Location: Salem VA (onsite)

Reports To: Human Resources Manager Medeco

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team at Medeco helping to create a safer and more open world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll leave management and support for the needs of production staff and leadership. This role requires excellent organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management: Oversee and process payroll for hourly and salaried team members ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Leave Management: Administer leave programs including FMLA vacation and sick leave ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
Employee Support: Provide direct support to staff addressing their HRrelated inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner while escalating issues when needed. Administer employee security and timecard badge systems.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process for hourly positions including job postings interviews and onboarding of new hires. Ensure that newly hired employees complete all preemployment background screening and I9 when hired as well as EVerify entry.
Staffing Agency Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for temporary staffing agencies to facilitate staffing level changes when needed.
Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee issues providing strong followup and clear communications.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations including those additional requirements included as a federal contractor.
Training and Development: Coordinate and facilitate training programs and meetings as directed.
HR Administration: Maintain accurate and uptodate employee records including personnel files attendance records and HR databases. Provide data and information in support of Affirmative Action Plan EEO and VETS reporting
Other Duties As Assigned: Decorating a conference room for an employee celebration what else that makes the job sound fun


Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
3 years of experience in an employeefacing HR role preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems (ADP and SuccessFactors preferred)
Strong knowledge of benefits compliance including FMLA ADA etc
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
HR certification preferred (e.g. PHR SHRMCP)

Physical Requirements:
Normal corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters numbers and symbols. Frequently required to sit stand walk talk hear bend and reach. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
