Macon R1 High School is looking for a Certified 912 Physical Education Teacher for theschool year. Extracurricular and coaching opportunities are also available. Macon High School has approximately 450 students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies.
- Participates in curriculum review and design.
- Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan.
- Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction.
- Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
- Participates in building grade level and/or subject area committees.
- Participates in professional development activities.
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance grades and discipline.
- Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner.
- Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns.
- Reports suspected abuse neglect discrimination and harassment as directed by Board policy.
- Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
- Attends established traditional schoolsponsored activities (e.g. BacktoSchool Night Open House programs activities and faculty meetings).
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Positive interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of digital resources tools and instructional applications

Terms of Employment:
Nine month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
