Position:Senior Group Leader/Site Supervisor

Program Description:
The afterschool program seeks to provide all participants with a range of opportunities for learning guidance mentorship and creative selfexpression for improving selfconfidence and selfefficacy cultivating interests and broadening worldviews challenging themselves helping others and for becoming engaged in their schools and community. We also seek to provide our participants with many services to which they would otherwise not have access: computer classes specialized high school prep arts enrichment tutoring consistent physical education and recreation and oneonone mentorship and guidance.
PositionSummary:
Program Oversight and Employee Management in the absence of the Program Director Curriculum Development Activity Facilitation and Classroom Management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide program oversight in the absence of the program director as needed.
- Attend biweekly strategic planning sessions with the Program Director and program staff.
- Support recruitment and outreach efforts for participant recruitment and retention.
- Conduct outreach to parents of participants as needed.
- Produce mandated program reports including outcomes and attendance as needed.
- Prepare classroom and program spaces for activities.
- Plan and implement weekly lesson plans related to socialemotional educational and recreational activities.
- Lead workshops for the program in at least one of the following disciplines:
- Sports technology leadership performing arts (dance theater etc. prevention visual arts or STEAM.
- Assist in workshops and activities to support activity specialists tutors and program partners to address inappropriate behavior and classroom management.
- Lead projectbased themerelated activities and prepare participants for quarterly presentations showcases and performances.
- Escort participants out of school and offpremises to ensure safety during dismissal.
- Engage participants and support school staff during the school day as assigned.
- Support hall monitoring as needed.
- Plan attend and escort participants on trips.
- Participate in special events and staff meetings.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Child Development Elementary Education Physical Education Recreation or a related field AND Two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
- (OR)School Age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the schoolage developmental period. AND Two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work;
- (OR)Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development Elementary Education Physical Education Recreation or a related field and Two years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
- Expertise in several of the following areas: gang involvement prevention teenage pregnancy prevention addiction prevention bullying and peer and dating violence prevention.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong verbal and public speaking skills.
- Strong written organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fastpaced challenging and constantly changing environment.
- The ability to perform at a high level.
- Dedication to serving youth in an urban setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing youth in an urban setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
