Summary

This position offers exciting opportunities in our Electrical purchasing domain managing current production supply relationships as well as new product development sourcing. As an Electrical Specialist you will play a fundamental role in scouting benchmarking and sourcing of new components including lighting wipers cameras and infotainment systems as well as other components as assigned. The candidate will work closely with Engineering and SQE specialists to assess supplier commercial and technical capabilities. The candidate will also work closely with other internal groups like Innovation Industrial Design Vehicle Electronics and Digital teams to understand product needs and coordinate strategy development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier evaluation selection and sourcing for assigned Electrical Vehicle Equipment commodities for all North American operations and/or leading/supporting global sourcing projects by working closely with global commodity teams (EMEA LATAM APAC).
• Programs: Support function for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies through improving parts for new platforms to meet program timing cost quality delivery and strategic objectives.
• Develop/implement supply base management strategies both regionally and globally that lead to the lowest total cost in terms of quality lead time delivery service and unit cost. Drive the selection of suppliers negotiate and maintain performance to expectations.
• Negotiate implement and manage LTAs (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings and raw material recovery in order to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives and while supporting organizational initiatives. Facilitate supplier/engineering VA/VE activities in order to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives to achieve budget performance.
• Provide leadership in and develop an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned including industry trends cost drivers global pricing leadtimes technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives.
• Annual Base Salary range for this role: $84000 to $125000 USD Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as skill experience and qualification for the role.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Business Supply Chain or related field along with a minimum of 6 years of purchasing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Electrical industry and supply base knowledge.
• Knowledge of electrical contract development negotiation and deployment.
• Strong data analysis and advanced problemsolving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite especially Excel.
• Ability to leverage industry specific software and data mining from ERP software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents.
• Advanced understanding of terms nomenclature and business models used in the industry.
• Ability to be accurate precise and follow set procedures and standards.
• Excellent collaboration and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to travel up to 15 primarily domestic but with the possibility for international.
