Master Mechanic Plant Engineering
Full Time 80 Hours Per Pay Period Day Shift
Position includes taking afterhours call.

Job Objectives:
Provide maintenance of Methodist Medical Center buildings and grounds equipment and distribution lines for steam hot water plumbing and sanitation.
Education/Knowledge/Skills:
Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED); must be able to read with comprehension write legibly perform simple mathematic calculations and follow oral and written instructions as required. Prior courses in blue print reading electricity machine shop mathematics plastering construction principles masonry and plumbing are required. Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques equipment and operation of power plants plumbing and heating systems sanitation refrigeration electrical systems and fire and safety regulations and procedures. Should be familiar with work and limitations of various crafts primarily involved in building maintenance.
Must have the ability to detect malfunctioning of equipment and possible fire and safety hazards; to work with a minimum of supervision; to work under emergency conditions; and to maintain concentration with attention to detail for prolonged periods of time sometimes under stressful conditions.
Experience:
Five years of progressive experience in maintenance work is required or a 2year degree (or completion of a 12 24 month vocational certification) in a related field accompanied by a minimum of one year maintenance/construction work experience. Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques equipment and operations of power plants plumbing and heating systems sanitation refrigeration electrical systems and fire and safety regulations and procedures.
Licensure Requirement:
E.P.A. C.F.C. Refrigerant level II certification is required.
Full-Time
