Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at Brandeis University seeks a parttime instructor for the course Math 8a Introduction to Probability and Statistics for the fall 2025 semester. The course examines discrete probability spaces random variables expectation variance approximation by the normal curve sample mean and variance and confidence intervals. This fourcredit course fulfills quantitative reasoning and science requirements and is intended for undergraduates.

Requirements for this position: PhD or ABD in mathematics or related fields. Experience in teaching collegelevel math courses is preferred. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter CV a draft course syllabus and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is February 18 2025.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
