Job Description

We design implement and service environments to encourage collaboration increase productivity and improve performance for organizations. Our areas of expertise include audio video cabling managed services networks paging and mass notification security and unified communications.
We are actively seeking a Unified Communications Engineer (VOIP & Mass Notification) to fortify our team based in Grand Rapids Michigan. In this role you will spearhead the of Unified Communications (UC) projects ensuring a meticulous approach from initiation to completion. This includes overseeing the installation process finetuning configurations orchestrating operational deployment and providing sustained maintenance for the hardware and software components integral to UC systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Gather customer information manage and ensure proper installation of UC based solutions including Microsoft Servers manufacturer software voice switches VOIP handsets and perform analog cross connects to create a fully operational system.
  • Program phones and the server to interact with various Mass Notification systems installed by MOSS as well as other vendors.
  • Perform periodic routine maintenance on customers systems to ensure system stability as necessary to adhere to any service level agreements between MOSS and the client.
  • Maintain the necessary documentation and asbuilt information of customer solutions to insure proper current design status and future design implementation guidelines.
  • Assure that all customer servicerelated issues are fixed in an acceptable amount of time.
  • Provide topnotch customer service on all installations and servicerelated issues. This includes keeping the customer up to date on the progression of their project or when their service issue will be resolved.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while working independently or within a team environment.
Extended Qualifications:
  • Troubleshooting LAN/WAN Switching
  • Any current Mitel Certifications a Plus

General Prerequisites

  • Previous related experience and leadership ability.
  • Familiarity with and proper use of hand tools computers and test equipment.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and relay instructions to others.
  • Ability and willingness to constantly learn new concepts and share information.
  • Understanding of IP Networks
  • Understanding of VOIP Concepts. Experience in Mitel a plus.
  • Good communications and customer relations skills.
