Location : Baltimore MD
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Start Time : 8:00 AM
End Time : 5:00 PM
Total Hours/week : 42.50MonFri
Qualifications:
- We are looking for a motivated Associate Scientist to join our company for a contract position.
- The ideal candidate will have 12 years of professional experience with the following:
- Capable of creating and preparing culture media in a GLP/GMP environment
- Trained in working with bacterial cultures
- Skilled in the use of aseptic technique
- Capable of evaluating test results and drawing conclusions
- Efficient use of scales balances and pH meters
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- The ideal candidate will have 12 years in a professional biotech environment although education and academic experience may be substituted.
- B.S. in Microbiology or a related Life Science is preferred but not required.
- Associate Scientist is responsible for producing lab scale pilots of prepared and dehydrated media and sterilizing biohazard wastes.
- Accurately and consistently prepares plated and tubed media pilots as well as stocked media for testing by laboratory personnel.
- This testing involves the precise weighing of individual ingredients physical preparation of materials as well as inprocess checks (pH autoclaving and dispensing into final form.
