The Director of Development is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Pensacola State College Foundation. The Director creates meaningful relationships with internal and external donors and supporters who wish to contribute to the success of Pensacola State College. This position defines and develops target markets identifying new opportunities while maintaining strong relationships and reengaging past supporters. The director creates the framework for how to prioritize development to maximize success. The Director follows up with leads establishes relationships with potential new donors and maintains an active portfolio of prospects and donors. Through strong development skills collaborates with the development team to raise resources necessary to meet strategic goals. The Director of Development cultivates and solicits major gifts and sponsorships to support the College. Reports to the Executive Director Institutional Development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree in a related area of specialization and four years of fundraising/development experience; two years supervisory experience and two years experience in major gift fundraising. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of 435.042 Florida Statutes related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education fundraising strategic planning experience and experience with constituent relationship management software system (Raisers Edge preferred).
Annual Salary: $58000.00
