Job Description
Schaumburg Christian School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Extended Care Worker to join our team. As an Extended Care Worker you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our elementary students outside of regular school hours. This parttime position involves supervising children during the extended care hours from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm as well as on some nonschool days when extended care services are offered.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during extended care hours.
- Engage students in ageappropriate activities games and crafts to promote social interaction and creativity.
- Assist with homework and academic activities as needed.
- Implement established routines for snacks playtime and quiet time.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff regarding student behavior and updates.
- Enforce school policies and procedures to maintain a positive and respectful environment.
- Collaborate with other extended care team members to create a cohesive and enjoyable experience for all students.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with elementaryaged children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students parents and staff.
- Ability to handle various situations with patience empathy and problemsolving skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred (not necessary)
- Flexibility to work on some nonschool days when extended care services are offered.
