Job Description
The Awty International School seeks a fulltimeSecondary(Grades 69 English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacherfor theschool year. The school is looking for an experienced handson teacher who interacts with students in a creative manner and can take complex concepts to a level the students will comprehend. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to teaching in a diverse multicultural environment.
The position will be full time 20 instructional periods per week plus other assigned duties) and eligible for benefits.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA or equivalent in English and/or Education
- Experience teaching ESL or EALin aSecondarySchool setting
- Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States
Ideal Candidate:
- Advanced degree
- Experiencewriting/adapting curriculum for EAL learners
- Experience with sheltered English instructional programs
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French preferred)
