Who You Are:
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Summer Intern is responsible for general labor duties to support the manufacturing operations and preparations for capital projects. The Intern will work on a variety of projects guided by a fulltime MCP employee and supervised by the Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager on plant improvement projects
- Maintains accurate notes on all work performed and keeps a record of modifications and changes.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks generate work instruction housekeeping and other plant betterment activities.
- Gathers moves organizes equipment tools and product as requested.
- Works successfully individually and in a team environment.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Plant Manager or designee.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow plant safety rules and regulations.
- Use personal protection equipment properly and appropriately.
- Responsible for reporting unsafe acts conditions health concerns spills and environmental incidents immediately to the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintains work area in a neat clean condition.
- Actively participate in safety meetings.
What We Need:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work outside in heat/cold
- Ability to wear all required PPE including the ability to wear a respirator and chemical suit
- Ability to work at heights with a harness.
- Ability to safely operate all hand and power tools and other machinery and equipment safely
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up t 50 lbs. occasionally
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum education desired is high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to follow work instructions and perform assigned duties in a safe and effective manner.
SHIFT: Monday Friday 5 hours per day 25 hours per week.
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager or designee
