Qualifications:
College hours high school diploma or GED (preferred)
Five years of vehicle driving experience
Acceptable driving record as defined by TxDPS and Katy ISD
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
Class A Certification
Pass annual physical in accordance with state law
Negative result on drug and/or alcohol tests administered as preemployment random postaccident and/or reasonable suspicion basis in accordance with federal law and district policy
Able to communicate in English in both written and oral
Able to read and interpret maps and routes
Able to climb in and out of Tractor
Able to work productively without continual supervision
Longdistance driving
Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
Primary Purpose:
Safely drive equipment to and from school on a schedule assigned by the Transportation Department. Safely transport equipment to and from district sanctioned activities. Always act in the best interest of the district the students and the community.

Katy ISD Tractor and trailer emergency equipment (triangle reflectors fire extinguisher bodily fluids kit etc. twoway radio securements fuel pump cleaning equipment (sanitizer rag towel broom mop etc..
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional and physical control under stress. Prolonged driving prolonged sitting. Frequent walking standing twisting climbing stairs stooping bending grasping/squeezing wrist and shoulder flexion/extension. Moderate lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) vehicle fumes noise and dust. Working around moving vehicles and vehicles/machinery with moving parts. Irregular hours and occasional prolonged hours.
