Job Description

Clearway School (a small private special education school for learningdisabled middle and high school students) has an opening for a fulltime program director to work as part of a four person codirector team starting August 1 2025.   • Maintain communication of relevant and mandated school information with families local school systems community resources Board of Directors and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Oversee preparation for all Department of Elementary Secondary Education reviews.
  • Develop maintain and update Clearway Schools policy and procedure manual so that it reflects the comprehensive guidelines set forth by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Department of Public Health and other state regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding the provision of services to students and families as well as human resources policies. This includes communication with Clearways attorney.
  • Oversee legal processes related to safety in the workplace harassment bullying and facilitate reporting of incidents to DESE.
Supervision/Oversight
  • Serve as the main contact with the lessor and oversees building maintenance in conjunction with the administrative assistant.
  • Oversight of the business manager who manages financial affairs (including yearly budget salaries contracts insurances payroll yearly audit).
  • Supervise Nurse Consultant to ensure that medication policies and procedures developed by the Nurse Consultant and School Doctor follow all DPH regulations.
  • Oversee all grant applications.
Coordination with Other CoDirectors
  • Coordinate administration of MCAS SAT ACT testing to ensure that Clearway School staff follows procedures and protocols.
  • Coordinate orientation for new families new staff and new students.
  • Coordinate teacher certification and recertification process. With the Director of Curriculum and Supervision provide required training along with training opportunities for staff to successfully meet their professional development plans.
Shared CoDirector Responsibilities
  • Participate in weekly CoDirector meetings assume responsibility for tasks delegated by CoDirectors for the betterment of the program and take on a leadership role for the program.
  • Work successfully with all students in the program including those requiring special attention because of difficulty being successful in the program.
  • Work successfully with families requiring special attention; support case managers (educational counselors) in their work.
  • Act as a case manager for 25 students. Oversee progress of each student act as liaison between school family and sending school district and keep staff abreast of important information regarding students.
  • Participate fully in weekly staff meetings supervision meetings case consultations and scheduled training. Attend IEP meetings family meetings and case conferences as needed. CoDirectors will decide which CoDirector is responsible for leading/facilitation of staff meetings.
  • Work on administrative projects assigned by the CoDirectors including projects related to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations facility materials and financials.
  • Assist the business manager in preparing financial statements and meet with the finance committee of the Board to review financial statements.
  • Work with other codirectors on hiring of staff and personnel issues.
  • During 25 summer work days serve as oncall administrator.
  • Perform Direct Service including teaching designated academic or elective classes and case management. (c. 10 periods per week).
  • Work on Board Initiatives and attend/present at Board meetings when requested.
  • Supervise 23 staff. Meet with each of these staff on a scheduled basis to provide feedback support and guidance regarding the delivery of services within Clearway School. Work to support these staff members in activities related to Professional Development Goals.
