As a member of the Sanford Nuclear Medicine team you will be working with stateoftheart equipment and software to include: GE 640 SPECT/CT 2 Infiana Hawkeye SPECT/CT GE PET/CT Cardinal Health Nuctrac Epic One chart Sectra PACS and 4DM software. Sanford Fargo houses two PET CT cameras including a GE Dimension used for Cardiac Procedures and GE Discovery MI which is the only digital PET/CT within a 300mile radius and the only one in the Dakotas. As a progressive department you will have an opportunity to be involved with novel cutting edge procedures and therapies. We are proud to have the opportunity to perform almost all procedures available in our field.

Position is full time with 80 hours per pay period and working 8 hour shifts with varying start times between 6:30am to 8:30am. This position does include weekday/weekend call in addition to a weekend and holiday rotation also.

Summary

Responsible for administration of nuclear imaging procedures calculation diagnostic therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications using a variety of equipment and strictly adhering to relevant safety standards. Performs quality nuclear medicine imaging examinations through the application of advanced technical knowledge while maintaining strict attention to patient care in accordance with department policy and procedure.

Job Description

Carry out hot lab duties and perform a variety of nuclear medicine studies on inpatients and outpatients in all age groups from neonate to geriatric. Have an understanding of nuclear regulatory commission (NRC) rules and regulations practice radiation safety safely operate all cameras and equipment in the department process and send data to required destinations via computer. Understands the theories and principles behind the equipment and tests performed in the nuclear medicine department.

Prepares measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutically dosages under the direction of a physician. Employs radiationdetecting equipment to perform patient imaging procedures; describes procedures to patients and answers questions. Implements radiation safety standards and quality assurance into daily work and monitors a patients condition during the course of an imaging procedure. Collects patient information analyzes data and provides quality images for a physician to diagnose a patient.

Dependent on needs of facility and department may also be responsible and crosstrained in performing positron emission tomography computed tomography (PETCT) scans with thorough understanding of all processes related to PETCT. Has ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures after appropriate orientation to the department. Able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. Confirmation of thorough understanding of all processes related to PETCT.

Qualifications

Completion of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology is required.



Certification with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required. In addition for the state of North Dakota (ND) licensed with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) board. Registered in positron emission tomography (PET) helpful. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of employment recertification as required. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
