Position Summary:
The Engineer 1 position is an entrylevel role requiring 05 years of related experience and an accredited bachelors degree in engineering. The Engineer will apply engineering processes design criteria and software applications to design and construct powerrelated systems. The role involves supporting project estimates developing design options and preparing construction specifications. Additionally the Engineer will provide guidance oversight and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors in the development of design solutions cost estimates and construction packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe work environment by prioritizing safety.
- Understand and apply processes used for planning design operation construction and maintenance.
- Develop knowledge of the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design construction and maintenance.
- Apply design practices and work processes ensuring compliance with industry and Southern Company standards.
- Utilize software applications effectively for design and project development.
- Support the development of design standards and criteria for the system.
- Provide assistance to construction and maintenance teams during daily operations.
- Estimate material needs for projects and prepare construction packages and supporting specifications.
