The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzingproduction costs preparing cost reports and providing insight into areas forcost reduction or efficiency improvements. This role plays a crucial part inhelping the organization make informed financial decisions and maintainprofitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect analyze and report on production costs including direct materials labor and overhead.
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual cost reports to assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Maintain cost accounting systems and ensure accuracy in financial data related to inventory cost of goods sold and margins.
- Analyze variances between actual costs and standard costs providing explanations for discrepancies.
- Conduct cost analyses to identify costsaving opportunities and improve profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Support pricing decisions and product profitability analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate with other departments such as production procurement and sales to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards and regulations.
- Participate in audits and assist with external and internal audit processes.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting required.
- 3 Proven experience as a cost accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
- CPA a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
