Job Description

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzingproduction costs preparing cost reports and providing insight into areas forcost reduction or efficiency improvements. This role plays a crucial part inhelping the organization make informed financial decisions and maintainprofitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect analyze and report on production costs including direct materials labor and overhead.
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual cost reports to assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintain cost accounting systems and ensure accuracy in financial data related to inventory cost of goods sold and margins.
  • Analyze variances between actual costs and standard costs providing explanations for discrepancies.
  • Conduct cost analyses to identify costsaving opportunities and improve profitability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation.
  • Support pricing decisions and product profitability analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as production procurement and sales to ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards and regulations.
  • Participate in audits and assist with external and internal audit processes.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required.
  • 3 Proven experience as a cost accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
  • CPA a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
