What would you be doing


An Accounting Technician engages in great interpersonal relations with clients and team members. This position has strong initiative and a positive cando focus.Accuracy precision and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are core skills for this position.

  • Providing bookkeeping assistance to clients in various formats including QuickBooks Online (QBO) QuickBooks Desktop and Sage
  • Processing biweekly/ semimonthly payroll for clients
  • Producing accurate income statements
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Preparation and filing of CRA remittances
  • Preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts as well financial and operating statements
    Preparation and filing of HST returns
  • Providing assistance with adhoc reports as required
  • Completion of ROEs
  • Preparation of client reports as required
    Preparation of T4s as required
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and taxation authorities (CRA) to complete all routine formalities from an accounting perspective

Who is our ideal candidate

  • Graduation from a postsecondary institution accounting or bookkeeping diploma
  • 1 years of accounting experience preferred experience in public practice or for multiple clients an asset
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of QBO Sage and Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with accounting and tax software an asset. (CaseWare TaxPrep etc.
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to change priorities quickly and easily meet recurring deadlines and take ownership of assigned client work
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
  • Adept at problem solving and troubleshooting using critical thinking abilities
  • Strong client and interpersonal skills
