Primary Purpose
Plan and provide speechlanguage pathology services including evaluations as required to assist students with disabilities to benefit from special education.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Masters degree or higher in speechlanguage pathology or equivalent from an accredited/approved college or university program and Valid Texas license as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist granted by the Texas Board of Examiners for SpeechLanguage Pathology and CCC or TEA certification in SpeechLanguage Pathology
Or
Masters degree or higher in speechlanguage pathology or equivalent from an accredited/approved college or university program and Valid Texas license as an Intern in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CFY) to practice under supervision of CCCSLP while completing the postmasters degreed 36 week fulltime internship
Or
Bachelors degree or higher in speechlanguage pathology or equivalent from an accredited/approved college or university program and Valid Texas license as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist granted by the Texas Board of Examiners for SpeechLanguage Pathology and TEA certification in SpeechLanguage Pathology

Experience
Minimum of one year supervised clinical speechlanguage pathology experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional strategies to promote student growth
Conduct speechlanguage evaluations/reevaluations of students referred through special education and provide a written evaluation report for assigned students.
Provide speechlanguage therapy services according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency Texas Board of Examiners for SpeechLanguage Pathology CCISD board policies and administrative guidelines.
Plan and provide direct and consultative speechlanguage pathology services consistent with speech and language goals and objectives contained in the students IEP for assigned students.
Work with other members of general and special education staff and administrators to determine present levels of performance as well as goals and objectives for determined areas of need.
Conduct ongoing assessments of students progress keep therapy logs for sessions recording progress data and use results to plan and implement therapy.
Review existing therapy data and conduct assessments to determine readiness for dismissal of speechlanguage pathology services.
Work cooperatively with the campus and district instructional supervisors coordinators and department leads to improve therapy services.
Integrate the instruction of technology into subject area instruction and use available technologies as appropriate therapy and learning tools.
Plan and supervise assignments of speechlanguage pathology assistants students and interns.
Communication
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Maintain a professional and cordial relationship with colleagues students parents and community members.
Adhere to local state and federal guidelines regarding confidentiality.
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students parents and other staff members.
Respond to parent phone calls/messages in a timely manner.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
Create an instructional therapy environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the CCISD Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
Provide for care and protection of school property and be held accountable for books equipment and other instructional materials.
Maintains accurate student attendance therapy session data records and evaluation reports and protocols in compliance with local and state requirements.
Assists in upholding and implementing administrative regulations and board policy.
Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis.
Account for the accuracy and verification of all student program data and reports.
Implement datadriven decision making for improvement efforts based on best practices.
