GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

To perform production of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with applicable cGMPs requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for materials management product documentation quality control radiation safety monitoring and production in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.
  • Performs independent periodic routine inspections maintenance and troubleshooting to support manufacturing and testing processes and equipment
  • Perform production activities and complex quality control analyses to produce and prepare 11C and 18F labeled compounds in strict compliance to written procedures.
  • Perform in strict compliance to written procedures including: Use maintain and complete documentation in compliance with quality procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the laboratory and its equipment including but not limited to preventative maintenance on QC and chemistry equipment per laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain a clean clutter free facility and wellorganized production area and workflow.
  • Perform complex manufacturing (cyclotron and chemistry module operation) and quality control processes.
  • Participate in complex inspections maintenance and troubleshooting including root cause analysis to support manufacturing and testing processes and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in the production process. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Detailed oriented and selfdirected with ability to work independently and multitask. Ability to read listen and understand technical direction policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills and team player. Intermediate computer skills are a definite plus. Automation and Purification experience Experience in operation automated and semiautomated chemistry modules Experience with 11C and 18F radiochemistry is preferred. Training will also be provided. Experience with general radiation safety and hazardous material handling or similar technical experience preferred. Experience working with complex analytical equipment such as HPLC GC and TLC a plus.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED Required.

Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or similar science field is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience is required but some experience with automation and purification with semi and fully automated systems detailed analytical chromatography experience and electrical engineering experience throughout training/education is preferred.
