Experience with quantitative and qualitative research

Availability approximately 1020 hours per week for the fall and spring with possible continuation through the summer 2016 on a more fulltime basis.

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The MultiRegional Clinical Trial Center of Brigham and Womens Hospital and Harvard University improves the design conduct and oversight of multiregional clinical trials especially trials sited in or involving the developing world; simplifies research through the use of best practices; and fosters respect for research participants efficacy safety and fairness in transnational transcultural human subject research. The MultiRegional Clinical Trials (MRCT) Center is a center within the Division of Global Health Equity of the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Womens Hospital and is in active collaboration with Harvard University. The Division of Global Health Equity (DGHE) fosters the support and coordination of training research and service to reduce disparities in disease burden and to improve treatment outcomes both at home and abroad. The Division focuses on infectious diseases (e.g. HIV and tuberculosis) as well as noninfectious diseases (e.g. coronary artery disease diabetes addiction) and other health problems that disproportionately affect populations in the developing world and of major importance to society. The DGHE is the administrative home of the MultiRegional Clinical Trials Center.
The position of Research Assistant International Health and Drug Law will work with staff faculty and others partners on deliverables for the MRCT.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work on be legal and policy research in international public health and drug safety/clinical trials regulations
Actively engaging in one or more projects related to transnational clinical research
Research topics including clinical trial and drug approval process regulatory reforms in China and India as well as solutions for public access to clinical trials data
Participation as coauthor in journal publications may be possible dependent on an appropriate level of involvement
Participate in working meetings with collaborators including representatives from academia biopharma nongovernmental organizations and patient/patient advocate groups
Complete literature reviews of related subjects
Perform sophisticated research utilizing a worldclass library and the Internet
Coordinate arrange and conduct interviews with experts and involved public private and multilateral organizations in both the United States and abroad with professionalism
Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to manage and analyze data
Review regulatory guidance drafts and policies for commentary
Draft commentaries white papers and manuscripts based on current workstreams
Draft case materials and other tools to translate positions to ensure scalability
Other activities as assigned.
