Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise to the UNC Pediatric Gastroenterology Research team and assist the Directors Primary Investigators faculty and staff as necessary with research study activation administration regulatory requirements internal auditing and close out. These responsibilities uphold the mission of UNC by maintaining the quality of research and by addressing patient safety and regulatory compliance which impact research quality and safeguard institutional integrity. The Research Professional is responsible for managing dynamic multicomponent translational research science initiatives totaling over $5 million in funding and providing overall daytoday project management across multiple projects and sites. This position is responsible for a wide range of duties related to planning monitoring organizing and executing the implementation and ongoing operations and outcomes of multiple Pediatric Gastroenterology research projects while adhering to the standards of good clinical practice. These duties include but are not limited to: conceptualizing designing and implementing research and evaluation protocols and activities; developing data collection tools and processes for tracking outcomes; analyzing evaluation data and reports; conducting IRB activities and ensuring compliance; providing consultations training and education to investigators partnering sites and diverse stakeholders; serving as a subject matter expert regarding best practices; and overseeing budget activity and invoices. This position may also involve hiring training and supervising research staff and/or students. The Research Professional is expected to manage daytoday operations of multiple projects with considerable independence in the areas of decision making problem solving and project management.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience in clinical research and project management is required. Knowledge and experience working in an academic medical institution is also required. Experience conducting data analysis and management is strongly preferred. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with external collaborators. Candidate must demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities effectively and exhibit proven research management abilities with an understanding of the culture policies and procedures relevant to academic research programs.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Masters degree; prior experience in pediatric gastroenterology research administration preferred.
