Job Summary
Adjunct faculty are hired to fulfill responsibilities which will be specified in their letter of appointment. Unless otherwise specified in the adjunct faculty members letter of appointment workload consists solely of instruction. All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning. Benefits: Faculty eligibility rules are complex and depend on the nature of your appointment. Faculty with a quartertoquarter or semestertosemester appointment who are in an EWU paid appointment of at least 50 percent or more are eligible for PEBB insurance on the first day of the month following the start of their second consecutive academic term. Required Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise is required for teaching in the discipline associated with appointment as an adjunct faculty member; expertise is normally demonstrated by one or more of the following: Masters degree in nursing or Bachelors degree in nursing with Masters degree in a health or education related field Unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse license or eligible for licensure Current healthcare provider CPR certification Excellent interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs including universal access of our students faculty staff and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years recent clinical experience Masters level course work in nursing education One or more years of prior experience teaching in a clinical laboratory or simulated learning environment Experience working with Canvas or another learning management system
Work Schedule
Schedule will be specified in the letter of appointment and may vary each semester in order to fulfill the positions assigned workload.
