Salary Information:The salary range is $49911$109469 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale. Teachers will be hired and employed in the highest category of teaching staff to which they are entitled in accordance with the degrees and certifications that they hold and the subjects and levels that they teach.

Position Summary:

Terms of employment: Reporting to the Secondary School Director the Teacher Secondary Technology and Sciences (EIST) position is fulltime and is based on a scheduled workweek of 40 hours (teaching and nonteaching). The regular hours of operations of the School are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Monday to Friday. This position is part of the Faculty CBA.

  • Plan for and provide secondarylevel classroom instruction in Technology and Sciences using the French language and in accordance with the French Curriculum. Prepare administer and grade tests and assignments to assess students academic progress regularly.

  • Develop curriculum instructional materials assessment tools and lesson plans according to the needs and interests of students fulfilling the criteria of the French curriculum and U.S. policies.

  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students creating a learning environment to achieve academic focus and success.

  • Select books and instructional aids appropriate to the interests and maturity level of students.

  • Evaluate students academic performance behavior social development and physical health and maintain accurate and complete student records.

  • Provide remedial programs for students who have not achieved language competency commensurate with their potential. Meet with department colleagues to evaluate student placement test results monitor and assess student performance throughout the year to determine each students current placement level and discuss other departmental concerns.

  • Participate in appropriate inservice programs or other professional development parentteacher conferences and faculty meetings as required or requested. Perform all administrative and teaching duties in a primarily Frenchlanguage environment.

  • Participates in parentteacher conferences as required or requested.

  • Participates in curriculum and other professional development.

  • Attends teachers meetings.

  • Participates in appropriate inservice programs or other professional development.

  • Evaluates student performance in philosophy class maintains records for individual students and prepares report cards each trimester.

  • Acts as liaison between students parents and school staff regarding the Secondary school technology program.

  • Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • The position requires a titulaire de lEducation Nationale or a Bachelor (Masters preferred) degree in Secondary Education from an accredited college or university or a teaching degree with a minimum of 2 years experience of teaching (in the relevant group)

  • Solid knowledge of technology computer sciences and robotic (for middle school students and early High school) software (Scratch Flowcharting Software Logicator for Picaxe etc.

  • Experience in HTML and Python (Intermediate level)

  • Bilingual in French desired

  • Orchestrate highly effective strategies material and grouping to involve and motivate students

  • Ability to analyze and chart data draw action and conclusions to leverage student growth

  • Ability to enforce high standards for students behavior

  • Communicate engage and collaborate with fellow faculty and staff in a collegial and supportive manner

  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

  • Skills in building an equitable classroom community.
