Staff Nurse position:
A registered nurse who as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team provides appropriate assessment intervention and directcare to the patient family coordinates services ensures quality and continuity of care during the hospital stay.
Provides competent and compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process.
Performs initial assessment which recognizes age appropriate behavior nutritional needs cognitive and physiological norms.
Provids age appropriate patient and family education regarding diagnostic tests medications and followup care.
Identifies facilitates and evaluates outcomes of nursing care through utilizing the nursing process.
Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent patient/family information to/from other healthcare team members.
Collaborates with other professionals and directs support staff in maintaining recognized standards.
Engages in quality improvement evidencebased practice and research initiatives.
Seekseducation andlearning opportunities to promote professional development.
Participates and/or engages in local national and international professional groups as appropriate to medicalsurgical nursing practice.
Schedule: 36 hours evening/night rotation.
Qualifications:
Incumbent must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
Incumbents must have a current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
Previous medicalsurgical acute/intermediate experience and telemetry required
PCCN/MedSurg certification ACLS preferred
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
Possess excellent assessment judgment and reasoning skills
Experience in dealing with and caring for complex physical psychosocial needs of patients and families
Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Basic computer skills necessary for documentation and retreiving data
