Job Description

TheCollection Specialist is responsible for supporting the Collection and ArrearsManager in ensuring the timely and efficient collection of outstanding debtsand arrears. This role involves maintaining accurate records liaising withtenants and clients to resolve payment issues and implementing effectivecollection strategies. The Collection Specialist plays a crucial role insafeguarding the financial stability of the business by minimizingdelinquencies and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CollectionActivities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of collection strategies.
  • Contact clients to follow up on overdue payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements within company guidelines.
  • Record and track all communications and transactions with clients.


RecordMaintenance:
  • Ensure that client and lease master data in MRI are accuratelymaintained.
  • Update records with any new information provided by clients or obtainedthrough research.
  • Ensure that all signed documentation is maintained against the Clientmaster.


Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on collection activities outstanding debts andprogress against targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly arrears reports.
  • Provide insights and suggestions for improving collection processes.

ClientLiaison:

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding payment issues.
  • Resolve client disputes related to billings and payments promptly andprofessionally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate timelypayments.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related tocollections.
  • Adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Supportto National Arrears Manager:

  • Provide support in collecting arrears concerning Western Cape parks asneeded.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as directed by the Collection andArrears Manager.


Requirements

Must be South African Citizen
Must have previous Debtors experience in Property or Real Estate environment
Preference given to those with MRI / MDA Software experience
