QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors degree in business finance or related field required
2. Highly proficient in Excel spreadsheets and formulas as well as proficient in Macintosh/PC hardware and office software environments
3. Working knowledge of NIH/DoD/NASA grant and accounting policies
4. Ability to quickly familiarize self with new sponsor terms for immediate application
5. Accounting background preferred
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Proficiency with Macintosh computer and ability to learn new systems quickly and easily required. Must have intermediate level skills for commonly used computer programs such as MS Word Excel PowerPoint database programs Adobe Acrobat.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Variable workload in fastpaced environment may cause frequent interruptions and the need to shift from task to task prior to completion. Often work under time pressures and tight deadlines.
2. Work will be conducted in offices adjacent to research laboratories.

Responsible for supervising 6 employees.

Senior Research Finance Manager will support the Director of Finance and Operations in management of a $4550M annual operating budget.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Provide higher level financial and administrative support to the ARCND Director of Finance and Operations and staff of Neurology Research. Position demands a high level of responsibility with minimal supervision extensive communication skills and excellent prioritization and customer service skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise mentor and oversee a team of six Research Finance Mangers with basic science and clinical research portfolios daily to ensure high quality service to their respective PIs and labs.
2. Review Insight and reconcile monthly financial reports correct any discrepancies and submit journal entries to transfer erroneous costs to appropriate project accounts when necessary.
3. Provide forecasting and account reports to the PIs and ARCND Director of Finance and Operations monthly and meet with PIs to review their financial status as well as personnel distribution on a monthly basis.
4. Work closely with ARCND Director of Finance and Operations to manage departmental deficits.
5. Maintain Other Support information for investigators and personnel while managing professional and support staff salaries in PeopleSoft system.
6. Track grant deadlines assist central Research Finance with financial reporting and complete relevant sections of federal foundation and industry progress reports.
7. Review and assist professional staff to verify their time and effort reports within institutional deadlines.
8. Review and approve purchase orders eCheck vouchers and employee expense reports.
9. Prepare budgets review grant application budgets within designated timeframe.
10. Serve as a liaison between PIs and Research Management/Finance/PCTO/Innovation/Compliance offices to ensure effective compliant sponsored research management.
11. Serve on the Neurology Research Management Committee and provide senior management with suggestions and/or information on how to improve efficiency.
12. Perform other duties assigned by ARCND Director of Finance and Operations and CoDirectors of the Neurology Research Centers and Divisions.
