Job Description
The Chemistry Department is seeking a parttime instructor to teach CHE 116 General Chemistry II Lecture for the Spring 2025 semester. This course builds upon the fundamental chemical principles learned in General Chemistry I and introduces chemical kinetics and thermodynamics intermolecular forces advanced chemical equilibria oxidation/reduction and modern materials. The lecture meets inperson each Monday & Wednesday from 2:15pm3:35pm. The instructor will be supported by being provided syllabus templates and assistance related to exam preparation and assignments. Office staff aid with class logistics and student organization. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their percreditratehistory within the hiring department.
Responsibilities
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Preparation of lectures projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed midsemester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
Qualifications
Candidates must have previous experience teaching general chemistry
