Job Description

Position Summary:
This individual will serve as a core faculty member within the CMHC program. The faculty member will maintain a teaching load engage students in an online learning environment maintain office hours serve as a student advisor and will be required to participate in yearly oncampus intensives with students. Core faculty members will need to retain a professional identity as a counselor by engaging in the professional counseling community via professional organization membership conference attendance research and/or other professional involvement opportunities. This is an online/remote position.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
Instructional:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
  • Teach the required assigned course load for the program of eight courses 24 credits) across a fourterm academic year.
  • Actively seek ways to improve didactic and clinical instruction.
  • Maintain familiarity with current texts materials teaching aids and techniques relative to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
  • Attend participate and assist the Program Director with the planning and implementation of yearly oncampus intensives.

Departmental Service:

  • Assist the Program Director with obtaining and maintaining CACREP accreditation.
  • Engage in faculty meetings and other departmental meetings that serve the needs of the department.
  • Implement assessment measures relevant to accreditation and track assessments related to courses of instruction.
  • Participate in recruitment and engagement activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Director and other faculty members to ensure departmental needs are met.

Institutional Service:

  • Actively participate in assisting the College in maintaining standards required for programmatic and regional accreditation.
  • Participate in full regalia in official graduation ceremonies.
  • Attend other official functions as needed.
  • Maintain a program of personal and professional development appropriate for areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain stateoftheart knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic disciplines.

Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:

  • Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREPaccredited program. ABD will be considered; all degree requirements must be met prior to start date
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a practicing clinical mental health counselor.
  • A preferred minimum of two years of experience in CMHC education; record of excellence in teaching
  • A record of professional and community service; involvement with the CMHC community via professional membership and service.
  • Licensed or licenseeligible within the State of New Hampshire and/or state of residence.
  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching and clinical supervision including proficiency in residential and online instructional technology.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities.
