Job Description

Position Summary
Oregon Techs Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Technology MMET department seeks applicants for a fulltime 5.5month non tenuretrack Visiting Professor position to start in January 2021. The primary focus for this position is the instruction of students in our ABET accredited BS Mechanical Engineering BS Mechanical Engineering Technology and BS Manufacturing Engineering Technology degree programs. Candidates must have a strong desire to teach and must be able to teach courses from Introduction to Engineering through to upperdivision courses. At this time we are particularly interested in candidates who are able to develop course materials develop labs and teach classes in one or more of the following areas: Machine Design Tooling Design Electrical Power Systems Manufacturing Processes We also place a high premium on practical skills and industrial experience that can be used to enhance student learning. This focus on realworld applications is one key reason why students choose Oregon Tech and why they are successful in their careers once they graduate. Candidates must also be prepared to participate in departmental initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD in a field related to Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Two 2 or more years of related industrial experience
