Position Summary:

Leads the shipping and receiving department and make sure that all documents and shipments are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that all incoming loads and bulk shipments are processed in JD Edwards.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Provide daily job assignments to shipping and receiving team to effectively manage bulk and nonbulk material shipping and receiving along with receipt of production supplies and containers
  • Assembles LTL shipping packets for bins and drums including printing shipping labels manufacturing labels address labels special customer labels bill of ladings matches certificate of analysis with correct orders.
  • Communicate to planning manager any issues that would prevent an order from shipping as scheduled.
  • Arranges carrier pickups
  • Acts as the point of main point of contact for shipping and receiving in the production operation.
  • FollowUp with the appropriate parties in the event carriers they have not arrived in a timely manner for an assigned pickup
  • Cross check all documentation for verification to ensure only minimize potential shipping and receiving errors. Monitor and track relevant Key Performance Indicators including on time and infull deliveries.
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental health safety and security requirements and manufacturing procedures.
  • Monitor 5S requirements for all work stations within the department.
  • Daily review of bulk inventory. Provide feedback on order quantities needed to the inventory controller.
  • Provide vacation coverage both for bulk deliveries and packaged deliveries within the department as necessary throughout the year.
  • Inspect empty containers being delivered to make sure they are in good condition. Reports any problems to your Supervisor.
  • Proficient in using JDE for receipt of materials and basic inventory transactions.
  • Monitor daily shipments to ensure that we are achieving On time infull (OTIF) goals.

Work Environment/EHS Responsibilities:

Will work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.

Ability to lift bags and other containers up to 50 pounds in a safe manner as directed. Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds with mechanical equipment in a safe manner as directed. May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily. May be required to work in small spaces and high locations.

Education Experience Skills & Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Forklift experience required intermodal container loading and unloading a plus
  • Previous experience in Shipping and Receiving role
    • Must have experience in Dept. of Transportation (DOT)
    • Experience with International Air Transport Assoc. (IATA) International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) is a plus
  • Previously completed the Lead Operator training program.
  • Must be able to read write and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in arithmetic skills.
