We are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join the casual pool at Northern Beaches Hospital. You will have Speech Pathology experience working in an acute hospital setting and be passionate about your work!
About the role
As a Speech Pathologist you will make a positive impact and enable patients to achieve their swallowing and communication goals in an acute environment by:
- Providing professional evidence based high quality speech pathology assessment and intervention.
- Developing positive working relationships with Medical Officers Nursing staff Allied Health Professionals and other staff members.
- Participating in and providing educational support to patients and their significant others supervision quality improvement and professional development
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Highly developed skills in assessment and treatment of adults with swallowing and communication disorders in the acute setting. Competency in VFSS and/or FEES highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice.

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant Speech pathology experience against the current Healthscope NSW Enterprise Agreement 2023 a salary ranging from $37.21$53.92 (grading dependent) per hour plus loading.

Applicants will be required to provide a current 12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Childrens Check prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
