Chevron ENGINE is looking for accomplished Technical Petrophysicist candidates to join our Earth Science team. The role involves providing unique petrophysical interpretation products to support asset teams and collaborating with application developers to improve analysis tools and workflows for Chevrons global community. The work spans various development environments including offshore onshore conventional and unconventional settings from exploration to development. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with both the asset and research and development (R&D) teams to achieve technical objectives and meet deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
Utilize Tech log to provide indepth and technically robust multiwell petrophysical analyses covering a broad spectrum of situations ranging from exploration to detailed field evaluations
Collaborate with R&D and application developers to improve existing analysis tools in Tech log and create new workflows using Python and other programming languages
Stay current with recommended logging tools and technologies to tackle intricate reservoir characterization issues and periodically provide support for realtime and newly drilled wells
Continuous collaboration with asset and exploration teams globally delivering clear communication prompt assistance and expert knowledge
Required Qualifications:
BS or MSc degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
At least 10 years of industry experience specializing in petrophysical interpretation
Expertise in numerous industrystandard techniques for log evaluation core and log integration mineralogy analysis shaly sands and saturation height functions
Deep knowledge of processing and quality control workflows for wireline and LWD (logging while drilling) tools across multiple vendors (Sonic NMR image formation testing) and ability to apply this knowledge to both new wells and legacy data
Strong proficiency in developing and implementing petrophysical workflows using Tech log or similar petrophysical analysis software
Ability to create apply and quality control probabilistic interpretations (QuantiElan Multimin or equivalent) in multiple reservoir types and basins
Adhere to global petrophysical standards and data management practices; contribute to and support data management initiatives
Understanding of physical processes associated with earth science reservoir modeling and subsurface
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate efficiently within a team
SLB Tech log software interpretation analysis and data management are preferred
Skills of using ML/AI to accelerate performance and accuracy of reservoir characterization is preferred
Experience in all or some of the following subspecialities are desirable: shale and tight/unconventional resource assessment carbon capture assessment/monitoring formation testing geothermal and/ or acoustic rock properties analysis is preferred
Experience across various basins and reservoir types
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
