Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to support the installation management and troubleshooting of the data network within the School of Medicine including physical cabling network electronics configuration changes documentation and consultation. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and Operations and coordinates activities with the Network Analyst. This position will also maintain a strong working relationship with ITS Communications Technology staff and partner with them to execute high level networking projects.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Demonstrated experience with cable installation termination and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Demonstrated experience with structured cabling practices including cable installation termination and troubleshooting * Documented experience with ISO network model * State of North Carolina Drivers License (or equivalent) to operate van * Network certification such as CompTIA Network * 6 months plus experience with network technologies (VLANs VoIP AVoIP Switch configuration) * Experience with ITSM tools such as Remedy or ServiceNow
