Staff Back-end Engineer - Ads Measurement Seattle or Mountain View

Role Overview

CMG Measurement is a key team in the Ads Infrastructure organization. We build the big data platform that processes all the Coupang Ads data which involves enrichment aggregation attribution settlement measurement and more.

We are looking for passionate backend software experts to build large scale data processing systems that power our Ads business. Our mission is to design and build a scalable extensible and resilient data processing infrastructure that powers our Ads business with big data and build scalable realtime services to serve the data.

What You Will Do:

• Led the technical directions for the team.
• Design and build largescale data processing systems and infrastructure for Coupang Ads
• Understand Ads business logic and be able to translate it into distributed and efficient data processing models
• Contribute to the design and development of our nextgeneration data processing platform that can support our rapidly growing Ads business for the years to come

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or electrical/electronic engineering mathematics or equivalent
• 8 years of solid work with fundamental algorithms system design and large distributed systems
• 8 years of coding experience in one of the following: C Java Scala
• Selfstarter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems
• Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in multicultural cross functional team
• Experience building highly scalable systems in a fast paced teamoriented environment
• Experience building systems in ads area
• Experience leading a project of building large scale data process system

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with advertising systems/Search advertising/Advertising Marketplace/Display advertising/Ad Server
• Ability and desire to drive solid design work on multithreaded/multiprocess distributed system
• A passion to explore improve automate and optimize distributed systems and tools
• Ability to think outsidethebox and challenge conventional wisdoms
• Experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)
• Experience working in startups
• Experience with Search Indexing Elasticsearch
• Experience with Spark/Hbase/Hive/Kafka

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $148680/year in our lowest geographic market to $276120/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending onjobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
