Job Description
Lifeguards are responsible for the health and safety of campers while in the pool and canoeing areas. Lifeguards are responsible for providing high quality primary care and support for the safety and activities of daily living of camper. Lifeguards engage appropriate practices that support social emotional cognitive and communication development. Lifeguards develop implement and support activities coordinators and management in of all camp programming. The training begins Wed May 28 through June 6. With Camp beginning Monday June 9th through Friday August 15. With counselors working M F 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
PAY RATE: $16 To 20 hour
Sign on bonus of $500.00 at 30 days and additional $500.00 in August.
We will pay for you to get your Life Guard Certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To successfully perform this job an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
- Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
- Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area identifying any safety issues throughout shift
- Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
- Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
- Organizing and overseeing pool activities for different programs and age groups
- Maintaining a clean pool environment
Required Qualifications listed below are indicative of knowledge skills and abilities required to be successful in this position.
- Current Lifeguard Certification.
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Previous camp experience with persons with disabilities preferred)
- Minimum of One Year Experience working with children (preferred)
